Family Foliage Hike
October 15

Scouts, Scouters, and family were once again up in Harriman State Park for our annual Foliage Hike. Following a scrumptious breakfast, the group proceeded from the Visitor Center up the trail, stopping briefly at Ga-Nus Quah rock, before having a relaxing lunch at an outcropping overlooking Pine Meadow Lake. Then, a leisurely hike back and home for dinner.

Pumpkin Offloading & Eagle Car Wash
October 1-2

Troop 75 helps our sponsoring organization, the Lucien Memorial Methodist Church, with the offloading of hundreds of pumpkins for their annual fall sale. Strong backs and a bucket brigade approach ensured that they were all off loaded in a single morning.

Additionally, Jonny F. held a fundraiser for his Eagle Scout project at Stop & Shop in Smithtown. With the help of some Scouts and friends, many cars left cleaner then when they arrived, and Jonny's goal amount was achieved.

Harriman Backpacking
September 24-25

Troop 75 hikes two separate routes to the West Mountain Shelter. Those preparing for Philmont went over the Timp, while the rest of the troop hiked along the Timp-Torne trail - about 6 and 5 miles round trip, respectively.  The muggy weather and slippery conditions made for a challenging hike for both crews.  After setting up camp, getting water, and cooking  dinner, the Scouts made a campfire and enjoyed the views of NYC in the distance.  Cooler temperatures at night made for excellent sleeping conditions. Good food, good company, and an overall good time.
